Melanie de Laat is stil one of the most beautiful girls who entered the Miss Earth pageant in 2008. She was Miss BeNeLux Netherlands 2009 and therefore she flew to the Philippines and represented the Netherlands.
She tried her luck at the beauty pageants in the Netherlands for the first time in 2004, when she entered the Miss Universe Netherlands 2004 pageant. She was very young at that time. After that pageant she tried her luck at the preliminaries for the Miss Earth pageant in 2005 and 2006.
