It was probably one of the most controversial Miss Universe pageants ever. And although we can talk about what happened and wonder if the Miss Universe can continue this way we prefer to talk about that what brought happiness to our country: The top 30 placement of Nathalie Yasmin, our Miss Universe Netherlands 2025.
The Netherlands didn’t place in 10 years since 2014 and we wondered already if we would have to wait again 20 years like we did from 1992 until 2011, but Nathalie changed all that.
The new License Holder of Miss Universe for the Netherlands since last year, Milou Verhoeks, changed the way you prepare a queen for an international pageant. Nathalie travelled to several countries all over the world to do promotional work, fashion shows and to do charity for Simavi in Kenia.
For Nathalie this was not her first international pageant, in the contrary! She represented the Netherlands at already three (3!) grand slam pageants and placed at 2 of them. In 2017 she was unplaced at Miss International but in 2019 and 2021 she made the semi-finals at both Miss Supranational and Miss Grand International.
In 2015 she won the Miss Tourism Queen international in China.
Besides this placement Miss Nathalie can also add a trophy at her cabinet: the Beyond Beauty award. This award was given to three of the queens who made a difference using their reign and title for a good cause. As mentioned before Nathalie travelled to Kenia for Simavi. After winning two awards at Miss Supranational 2019 (Miss Influencer and Miss Elegance) we can call her also Queen of the awards.
We sure hope that the Miss Universe Netherlands organization is able to continue the placements as the do at the Miss Earth Pageant.
