Charlotte Labee
After 2 years of a no show of Miss Netherlands at the Miss Universe pageant, the Miss Universe organization demanded Sheida Wever to send a delegate in 2008 or lose the right to send a girl to the pageant. Sheida took over the Miss Universe Netherlands organization already in 2006. Miss Wever was Miss Curacao in 1985 and had been organizing Miss Curacao for both the Miss World and the Miss Universe pageant between 1997 and 2006.
In 2008 Sheida organized a pageant with the longest name in dutch pageant history: The Miss Universe Top Beauty Netherlands. Unfortunately the long name was no guaranty for a long reign as dutch pageant organizer. In 2009 Kim Kötter got the right to send the dutch delegate to the Miss Universe pageant.
We saw some wel known faces in the beauty pageant world, like Jelena Petrova, Shireen Gulzar, Milou Verhoeks and Amanda van de Meule.
But none of them won, it was Charlotte Labee who was crowned.
Charlotte entered the Miss Nederland pageant in 2007 but did not make the cut at that time to become one of the provincial queens.
