The very handsom, 22 years old, Ferdi Caglayan will represent the Netherlands at the Mister Supranational pageant in Polen on december 2nd. He is the second mister to go to this pageant. Last year Rico Mallee was our first candidate, but unfortunately he didn’t place.
Ferdi was asked by Robin and Stefan of 12 Months of Beauty to be their first Mister Supranational Netherlands.
Who is Ferdi, we asked him 10 questions…
Who is Ferdi Caglayan?
I’m Ferdi Caglayan and I’m 22 years old and live in Baarn. I’m a sports-management student who works in a restaurant and likes to dance. My inspiration comes from Cristiano Ronaldo because he is a great athlete and a person who helps a lot of people in need. I want to be a man who can help other people without getting something in return for it, just like him.
When and why did you enter the world of beauty-pageants?
About a year ago. a friend of me told me about it and I thought why not, that moment I entered the world of beauty-pegeants I knew what I could accomplish and what I can do for other people.
What was your reaction and what were you thinking, when you were asked by 12 Months of Beauty to represent the Netherlands at Mister Supranational?
My first reaction? I really didn’t know what to say, it took a couple of minutes before it sinked in to me. It was the best moment of my life and Im still thinking the same about it. The happiness of that moment is such a difficult thing to describe. It gives me so much more motivation to work harder and reaching my goals.
How are you preparing for the international pageant?
I’m training everyday for it and I lost a lot of weight to get in shape and I’m still going on. I’m working hard every day till the moment of flying to Poland and have the blessing to represent my country on the pageant.
You will visit Poland and Slovakia. What are you looking forward to the most, from both countries and why?
I’m really looking forward to everything because I never visited any of the countries. I want to feel the culture and take pictures of everything I see.
What will you tell the other guys about the Netherlands, that makes you proud of your country?
That you really can be who you want to be and there is so much culture and that makes me proud of my country. You can do what you want and there are so many opportunities to make it over here. How a small country never give up in what they do and will always give their best, no matter what it is.
What makes you a typical dutch man and what makes you a supranational man?
What makes me a typical dutch man? I think what makes me a typical dutch man is that I’m really down to earth and humble like a lot of dutch people. We work hard and stay humble and what makes me a supranational ? I like to help people and be the best person I can be. I don’t want to be remembered only as a model, but as a great person too. That makes me a supranational man.
How can a mister be a role model for young people? What role model will you be for dutch young men?
A lot of young men looking up to Misters and they follow you, so they copy what you do. That is the reason why you have to have a positive mindset, even how bad the situation is. They want to be you and I want to help them so why shouldn’t I open doors for them and help them were possible.
What’s your life’s motto and how do you live by it?
My life motto is: Live your own life, because everybody want to be somebody and they forget who they really are and what they are worth. I live it by being myself and being the best version of me. So live your life and try to help the people who need it the most.
How about Ferdi in 10 years?
How about 10 years?
I want to be a top model so my parents don’t have to work anymore. I’ll work hard to reach my goals and hope to inspire people to do the same. If this is not possible than I want to create activities for children in sport that everybody likes and everybody could do and at the end of the day we will party together. I want to inspire the kids with low self esteem and tell them what they’re worth and that they have to believe in themselves. Because in my opinion if you believe in yourself, in your dreams and invest in yourself, you will be unstoppable.
