Rikkie Kollé, powerful and confident @ Miss Universe
An unforgettable experience with a message!
In the night of 18 november, the 72nd Miss Universe took place in El Salvador. The Netherlands was represented by 22 year old Rikkie Kollé from Amsterdam, who in spite of her impressive appearance, strong presentation skills, a successful jury interview and a catching national costume, just did not make the top 20. Still she achieved her mission to share her message at an international level, which we can see in a documentary on NPO3. just before the Holidays!
The 72th Miss Universe Competition
Together with 80 other countries, Rikkie was on the world stage of MissUniverse. Although she just missed a Top 20 spot, she presented herself powerful and full of confidence, and a wish of hers has come true. For Rikkie it was a fantastic adventure. To be together with so many different cultures and to share her message while worldwide millions of people are watching, is something she will be remembering as one of the most special experiences in her life.
Rikkie on her participation in Miss Universe
“It was magical and an honor to stand on this podium. I am very grateful to the Miss Nederland Organization for the support I got to spread my message internationally and to feel the recognition. The path from my participation in Miss Nederland up to the Miss Universe pageant from last weekend, is a personal document which is registered in a documentary, which will air on Thursday December 21th on NPO3. I am so proud of that!”
A Dutch Rainbow Tulip
A few days before the final show there were 2 shows: The preliminary competition and the National Costume Show. During these shows, our Miss Nederland literally went “out of her mind” because of her national costume, designed by Miss Pearl Couture, which was all about a typical Dutch Tulip, and the rainbow colors, what Rikkie stands for..
Extremely Proud
The Miss Nederland Organization, represented by Monica van Ee, sees what Rikkie did accomplish, not only at their own organization, but also at Miss Universe, and she cannot be more proud of her.
Monica van Ee, National Director and Headsponsor Hannah:
“What an adventure this was! Thanks to the platform of Miss Nederland, we could give Rikkie the chance to give international color to her important message. She deserves to be seen and to “just stay yourself”. In spite of her strong story with an obvious mission, Miss Universe has chosen for another path. As a team, we are extremely proud of Rikkie and her representation as Miss Nederland!”
