Although a lot of restrictions are not as tight as 2 months ago, we still need to be very careful and life is not as it was like 9 months ago.
How do the dutch pageants deal with these rules and restrictions?
One of the most importants pageants in the Netherlands, the Miss Nederland pageant sends their winner to the Miss Universe pageant. Like the last few years the Miss Universe organization is very late with news or information on the 2020 finals of one of the most spectacular pageants in the world.
How did the Miss Nederland organization deal with the pageant and the casting and the so far?
It’s been already 2 months ago that the 10 lucky finalists were selected during a casting weekend in the hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam.
The casting judges were besides the CEO of Miss Nederland, Monica van Ee-Hummen, a group of very successful beauty queens like Miss Nederland 2019: Sharon Pieksma, Miss Nederland 2018: Rahima Dirkse, Miss Nederland 2017: Nicky Ophey, Miss Nederland 2016: Zoey Ivory and Miss Universe 2014 3rd runner-up and Miss Nederland 2014: Yasmin Verheijen.
The Miss Nederland organization had al participant prepared for the restrictions. The girls all received a package at home with all the necessary equipments to travel safe with public transport and at the casting it self the girls had to be 1,5 meters apart at al times.
After the first day a group of 20 girls made it to the last casting day on Sunday. Again with al restrictions, 10 girls were chosen to be in finals of Miss Nederland 2020.

- Leyla Haji – Zade, 23 from Groningen
- Roos Sophie van Twisk, 22 from Amsterdam
- Rosalin van Tuijl, 26 from Hellouw
- Sanne ten Kate, 22 from Eindhoven
- Sharida Senior, 27 from Amsterdam
- Sigrid Boersma, 22 from Steenwijk
- Sophie Alink, 20 from Drachten

Like last year the whole pageant will on dutch television. “Op jacht naar de kroon” will be shown on RTL4, from September 20th.
The girls have had already several pre-pageant activities, like a photoshoot with William Rutten and a trip to Austria.
