And there we are at the top 5 of MHN50! It is the beautiful, tall and very smart: Kelly Weekers, Miss Nederland Universe 2011.
Kelly was born on august 20th 1989 in a small town called Weert. During her studies she was scouted by a fashion agency and she started a career as a model.
Robin and Stefan of Miss Holland Now, spotted her during a fashion show in Amsterdam and said to each other: She should do pageants. They were very delighted to see her at the Miss Limburg 2011 pageant as one of the candidates.
Kelly won the provincial pageant and went on to the national finals. In 2011 the Miss Nederland pageant was a reality soap on RTL4, called ” Ik, Miss Nederland”.
The show focussed on some of the coaches of the Miss Nederland candidates. Robin and Stefan were two of those coaches and really got to know Kelly very well during the taping of the episodes. Kelly, Robin and Stefan coincidentally were many times put together by the production: Robin and Stefan visited her in Maastricht where she studied at that time and during the Thailand visit they even talked pageants at midnight on the corridor of the Hotel.
After she won Miss Nederland Universe, she represented The Netherlands at the Miss Universe pageant in Brazil where she was a favorite of many, the moment she set foot on Brazilian ground.
After 20 years of absence in the semi-finals, Kelly brought The Netherlands back to the semi-finals at Miss Universe. Everybody was so happy with that result.
Besides being a beauty queen she also completed her studies in Clinical and Health Psychology in Utrecht.
In 2016 she became a television anchor on RTL4. At RTL Boulevard she is an expert where she uses her expertise on psychology.
She published a book in 2018 “Happy life 365” that entered the top 5 of the bestsellers list after 1 week in The Netherlands.
Since 2012 she is in a relationship with the successful music producer John Ewbank and the two have a daughter.
No surprise this absolutely beautiful lady inside and outside made the top 5 of our first MHN50.
She is one of those beauty queens in The Netherlands, who show that after your reign you can start a successful career of your own.
We are very proud the judges were unanimous that she, Kelly Weekers, had to be in the top 5!
