10 Questions for Manhunt International Netherlands 2019, Paul Luzineau

Manhunt International Netherlands 2019/2020 Paul Luzineau has been preparing for the international finals for quit a long time.
He won the Misters of The Netherlands pageant last year in April and since then the preparations started.
Their motto is “The most handsome Man in The Netherlands”. But how do you become the most handsome man?
The international finals will take place in February and he hopes to be at least as successful as his predecessor, Luca Derin, who was 2nd runner-up in 2018.
Paul will be the ninth dutch man to go to Manhunt and represent our country and so far we made the semi-finals on 2 occasions and once we made the top 5.

But who is Paul and how did he become the most handsome? We asked him 10 questions…

Who is Paul Luzineau?
Paul Luzineau is ‘’The Most Handsome Man of The Netherlands 2019’’. He is 23 years old and stands 189 meters tall. He is a model and student, coming from a family of 6 growing up in Dalem, Gorinchem with his parents and 3 older sisters. He loves playing soccer and running, but you can find him often in the gym.

When and why did you enter the world of male beauty pageants?
After I got back from modeling work in Milan, I was searching for a new challenge. At the right time I got a message from the scout team to join Misters of The Netherlands.  I thought why not, this could be a great chance to become a better version of myself, by getting out of my comfort zone, so I joined the pageant.

How do you prepare for the international competition? What do you need to work on the most?
The best preparation is having good team behind you, I got a lot of support from my family and friends. This is also the main reason I want to give everything so I can make my family more proud. I start working with the Misters of The Netherlands team preparing for the media, catwalk and doing a lot of photo shoots. And of course I am working really hard in the gym with my personal training to get in the best shape for the world final.

What do you expect from the international competition and the contestants?
What I expect is a ‘’one in a lifetime experience’’ meeting a lot contestants with different stories and cultures. Everyone will do their best to make their country proud, but the most important thing in pageantry is to have fun and enjoy while you are there.

What will you tell the other contestants at Manhunt about the Netherlands that makes you proud about your country?
That The Netherlands is a really small country with more than 17 million people, I have to talk about Amsterdam because they may already have heard about it and our famous dutch syrup waffles, and yes I will bring some with me to Manila The most thing I am proud of is that here in The Netherlands we all have different cultures and religions and still can live together with peace.

What are you looking forward to the most, when visiting The Philippines and the pageant?
The most thing I looking forward is the world final, I can’t wait to represent my beautiful country and shine on stage by giving everything I have. I also can’t wait to try the Filipino food, I have heard really good stories about it.

What in your opinion is the difference between a boy and a man?
A boy just dreams about his goal, A man will work for it and make it happen, he is more responsible for his actions then a boy who is still learning about how life works.

Why do you think male pageants are getting more popular in The Netherlands?
Because of social media. Our organization is keeping our pageant really up-to-date and tries to give it more attention in the dutch media. So new young men can see it for themselves, instead of believing stories about male pageantry.

As a beauty king you can use your title to make a difference. In what field would you use your
title and make a difference and tell us something more about it.
I want the youth, to stand up more for themselves. Listening to the advice of others but still have the courage to make their own choices. Nobody is perfect, and it’s not wrong to make mistakes. Get out of your comfort zone and try something new.

What about Paul in 10 years ?
I think I would be sitting on a beautiful island, with the love of my life and some kids. Looking back at my successful model career hopefully started my company that will last for a long time.

We would like to thank Paul and his national director Ryan for taking the time to answer our 10 questions and we want to wish the both of them all the best of luck at the international finals in February
