In time of Corona, Miss Earth Netherlands 2020

In these unpredictable times international en national pageants have to come up with new or old ideas on how to select their candidates and winners. For national pageants it is even uncertain if their crowned heads will enter the intentional finals in 2020 or in 2021.
Will the 2020 queens enter the 2021 pageants when pageants will be cancelled or postponed?
All kinds of questions rise up in this period about this subject.
We see some of the international and dutch national pageants have already announced about their road to a sometime, postponed final later this year. There are also organizations which have not come up with any announcement at all.
We will inform you about the dutch national pageants and on how they deal with this crisis, in the coming weeks. We start with the Miss Earth Netherlands by the Miss Beauty of the Netherlands organization.

On social media we learned a few weeks ago that the finals of Miss Beauty of the Netherlands 2020 will be combined to Miss Beauty of the Netherlands 2020/21 and take place in august 2021.
This means that the provincial finals all have been delayed till the end of this year, beginning of next year. They have the time to crown their provincial queens until may 2021 and they will carry the title for 2020/21.
The organization decided this because they believe that all finalists deserve a big final and a great process to the finals.
This means that Nikki will carry her sash for one more year.

But what about the Miss Earth Netherlands crown for 2020?

Although there is no official statement from the Miss Earth organization so far on the finals of 2020, the Miss Beauty organization announced last week on friday may 22nd, that the Netherlands will be represented by Tessa le Conge.
Tessa is no stranger in the world of pageantry as she was Miss Beauty of  Gelderland 2016 and first runner-up at the national finals of that same year.
Because of that she got the honor to represent the Netherlands at  Miss Asia Pacific International 2016. The pageant was held after 10 years of absence and Tessa was the first dutch girl to represent the Netherlands ever at this pageant and she did not only win the Miss Friendship award but she took home the overall title.
After her reign she was loyal to the Miss Asia Pacific International organization.
Nowadays she is Team manager of the Miss Beauty of the Netherlands/Miss Earth Netherlands. This means that she is responsible for the road to the finals for the Miss Beauty of the Netherlands winner.
We are sure that Tessa will make a huge impression on the international finals and she will make us proud.
